Project Description
The Langkawi Integrated Fisheries & Aquaculture (LIFA) project is a transformative initiative positioned to establish Bukit Malut, Langkawi as a regional center for modern, sustainable, and high-value aquaculture and fi sheries. Conceived as a One-Stop Economic Zone, LIFA integrates the full aquaculture and seafood value chain—from hatchery to harvest, processing
to export—within a single, purpose-built ecosystem. Spanning over 274 acres, the LIFA zone combines both offshore and land-based aquaculture systems, supported by advanced infrastructure such as feed mills, seafood processing plants,cold chain facilities, and smart management systems. The project is designed to drive efficiency,innovation, and commercial scalability while aligning with Malaysia’s long-term food security and blue economy goals.
